Abstract

Fergal Ward Director of Research programs, Intune Networks Ireland

Rergal is responsible for all research and development activities in Intune Networks Ireland. He received a B.E and M.E degrees in Engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2002 and 2004 respectively. In 2005 he joined Intune Networks in a product management role and has since held senior positions in technical and management roles. He is now responsible for Intune research programs, partner alliances, and also manages the Irish Governments’ Exemplar test bed program and the delivery of a next generation infrastructure and application eco-systems.

Mr Ward is one of Intune Networks’ first employees and has since played a key role in driving Intune from a small software company to one of the world’s most innovative software and hardware networking companies. Mr Ward has wide experience in the optical industry both in telecoms and sensing. His areas of interest include next generation communication networks, cloud applications and sensor networks.
