Declan Carew

Description

Declan Carew is an experienced product development and management professional who has worked internationally for a number of the world’s leading communications companies. He has served in a variety of roles that have spanned Technology Transfer, Research & Development, Intellectual Property (IP), Supply Chain, Product Development, and Product Management in both operational and commercial capacities. Declan has an engineering and business background having studied at the University of Limerick (Engineering), Trinity College Dublin (Business), and Henley Management College (MBA). He currently lectures to postgraduate level in an adjunct capacity. He has lectured extensively on a wide range of management topics such as Operations Excellence, Supply Chain Strategy, Lean Principles, Project Management, and Contract Management. The development of new products and services involves an integrated set of unique activities. Declan has spent his career focusing on addressing this challenge across the entire life cycle of activities from concept through commercialisation and full circle to end-of life. Recognising the unique role of IP in the life cycle in terms of strategic and financial importance, Declan recently joined Intellectual Ventures (IV) to support their international expansion, and serves as Marketing Product Director with responsibility for formulating strategy in response to growing demand from companies across Europe to support their IP strategy.
